How to write a useful message

Two sentences of detail save a week of going back and forth.

1. The question first. We read the first two lines properly and skim the rest, which is honest rather than rude.
2. The page address, if there is one. Describing an article is much slower than pasting its link.
3. What you saw and what you expected. Those two together solve most of what arrives in the inbox.

How long a reply takes

Two or three working days is normal. If a week passes with nothing, assume the message went astray and send it again rather than assuming we ignored you.

Use the same address and put the word partnership in the subject line. Please read the commercial links section of the editorial policy first, because it will save both of us a round trip.

What we cannot do

There is a line between publishing about business funding and advising you personally, and we stay on the publishing side of it. That rules out account problems, disputes with third parties, and anything that depends on facts only you can see. See the legal notice.

Mistakes

Complaints about accuracy get priority over everything else in the inbox. Be specific rather than gentle. The rules we follow when fixing something are in the editorial policy.
